The court concluded its verdict on 31st May, Wednesday afternoon, after involving since 17th May, over six days in total.
Danny Masterson Sexual Assaults
Masterson’s sexual assault grasped the international headline in March 2017. A Los Angeles Police Department scrutinized him following a sexual assault allegation from three women in 2001 (23 years old), early 2003 (28 years old), and late 2003 (23 years old). That time, Masterson, however, denied the allegation Via agent.
After the allegation went widespread, Netflix promptly kicked Masterson out of its show “The Ranch.” Netflix published a statement,
“Yesterday was his last day on the show, and production will resume in early 2018 without him.”
Masterson, a Church of Scientology member, faced another allegation by an American singer from The Mars Volta and At the Drive-In band, Cedric Bixler-Zavala. He alleged Masterson raped his wife, Chrissie Carnell Bixler, and unfolds that Drive-In’s song “Incurably Innocent” is about the traumatizing part.
Subsequently, a fifth woman who dated Masterson accused him of raping her in December 2017. Masterson was then terminated from the United Talent Agency.
The actor has since defended only one case:
“I’m not going to fight my ex-girlfriend in the media like she’s been baiting me to do for more than two years. I will beat her in court—and look forward to it because the public will finally be able to learn the truth and see how this woman has railroaded me…”.
Additionally, a woman raised her voice that he shoved a pillow into her face in 2003 while being sexually assaulted by Masterson.
Another victim, an ex-girlfriend of Masterson, accused him of rape in 2001 while asleep.
Danny Masterson & Church of Scientology
In August 2019, Masterson’s four victims sued the Church of Scientology for stalking and harassment brought on by their rape allegations.
Eventually, Leah Remini’s documentary series, Aftermath, emphasizing the Masterson rape testimony and Scientology, was aired on 27th August 2019, delayed due to pressure from the Church of Scientology.
Subsequently, Cedric Bixler-Zavala raised his voice against Scientologists, on January 22, 2020, for harassing him and the family after repeatedly alleging Masterson raped his wife.
Masterson did not respond to any of Bixler-Zavala’s allegations.
The climax of a three-year investigation finally resulted in an arrest warrant for a notorious Hollywood actor, Danny Masterson.
On 17th June 17, 2020, Masterson was charged with raping three women from 2002 to 2003. But unfortunately, the actor pleaded no guilty, announced by the authorities on 21st January 2021,
On 18th May 2021, a four-day preliminary hearing was started. Three days later, Judge Charlaine F. Olmedo ruled that all three victims were dependable and that the presented evidence during a preliminary hearing sufficiently supported the charges. Further, the judge ordered Masterson to be bound for trial on three counts of rape. Additionally, the actor was ruled to surrender his passport at his next trial.
However, Materson once again did not get charged for the crime he was accused of. Rather, the victims were indicted for conspiring against Masterson. Also, Matterson’s defense attorney said that one of the women had received cash from Masterson in 2004.
After the 7th June 2021 prosecution, Masterson walked free from the court, paying a $3.3 million bail. And the next hearing date was set for 9th August 2021.
Following a long rescheduling of deliberations, a new trial was set in April and May 2023. On 31st May, Masterson was convicted of two of the three rape cases and remanded to custody with no facility of bail until sentencing. As of 2nd June 2023, Masterson was imprisoned at Los Angeles’s Men’s Central Jail.
I stayed quiet long enough. Danny Masterson repeatedly raped me. All I seek is justice and to prevent this from ever happening to anyone else as it has for some time. My truth will be heard. I applaud her strength as well. @ChrissieBixler #metoo #sisters
