A philanthropist, heiress, and reality star, Anna Shay is survived by a son, Kevin.
Fan favorite Bling Empire cast Anna Shay passed away tragically on 5th June 2023, aged sixty-two. The reason for her untimely demise is recognized as a stroke.
Shay’s Family confirmed the unfortunate news in a statement
“It saddens our hearts to announce that Anna Shay, a loving mother, grandmother, charismatic star, and our brightest ray of sunshine, has passed away at the early age of 62 from a stroke.”

Getting in front of Camera was never on Shay’s bucket list. In an interview with OprahMag.com, Shay said she literally had naught idea what she invited into her life when she yeses to become the cast of “Bling Empire.” Certainly Huge Fame!!!!
Shay said,
“The next thing I knew, I was sitting in front of the camera. I’m really quite shy, so it was hard. I never thought about doing this, especially at my age.”
The Netflix reality show chronicled the moneyed lives of Angelenos of Asian descent.
She initially thought her friend, Jeff Jenkins, who happens to be the show’s executive producer, wanted her to work behind the camera. What happened next is history!!

Anna Shay appeared in the Bling Empire alongside other Asian-American socialites based in Los Angeles, including Kevin Taejin Kreider, Jaime Xie, Gabriel Chiu, Christine Chiu, Kelly Mi Li, Kane Lim, and Cherie Chan. The show is compared to the real-life Hollywood movie “Crazy Rich Asians.”
In an interview, Shay explains how grateful she feels about doing the show. It’s a treat for herself. After giving her entire time looking after her son in the wake of her parent’s deaths, she once again found herself delighted doing the show. When engaging in drama, Shay did not hold back from her co-stars or show off her money in front of the cameras. She believed her true values lay with her beloved family.
Netflix’s reality TV series “Bling Empire” was canceled after the third season (January 15, 2021–October 5, 2022).

Who was Bling Empire star Anna Shay’s father Edward Shay?
Anna Shay was born to affluent American business tycoon Edward Shay and his wife, Ai Oizumi Shay, a half-Japanese, and half-Russian in Japan. Until the age of eight, she grew up in Tokyo and then headed out to attend international schools.
Her father owned Pacific Architects and Engineers (PAE), a prominent defense and government services contractor. After her father, Edward passed away in 1995, the multi-million dollar business was passed to her brother Allen who assumed control of Pacific Architects as chairman and CEO.
In 2006 Allen and Anna sold the company at approximately $1.2 billion to Lockheed Martin, making them heirs to the company’s great wealth.
